             ______________ISSUE 25_______________

Well here we are again happy as can be, the SAM Supplement is
two years old this issue, not bad considering when it was first
launched it was intended to be a Bi-Monthly disk magazine.

So what's news this month Steve ?
First up is SAM PRIME, what is that I here you cry, well it's a
new disk magazine for all SAM owners so the advertising goes, it
is the latest baby from David Ledbury, he's the ex editor of the
official ex SAM newsdisk from ex SAMco. To quote the advert it
say's "I feel there is now a gap for a quality product - to fill
this gap I have put together a top rate team of writers and
experts in the SAM computing field in order to produce the
ultimate source for news, programming and features".
Other features will include the continuation of the SAM ROM
source listing and the hardware section (I'm still waiting for
my hardware kit !!!) also planned is a help section for the two
arcade creation systems available for SAM.

A bonus for us ex newsdisk subscribers is a 50p reduction in the
price of SAM PRIME which is as follows:-

£2.00 per issue (ex newsdisk subscribers)

£2.50 per issue for non newsdisk persons

SAM prime will be a BI MONTHLY publication and long term subs
are:

£15.00 for 1 year subs (6 issues) non newsdisk persons

Issue 1 should be released at the Birmingham show Sept 5th 1992

or send a cheque made payable to D. Ledbury
SAM PRIME C/o 5 Beacon Flats, Wellington, Telford, Shropshire
TF1 1RG.

Those of you who are observant will have noticed I said there
were two arcade creation systems for SAM, well I have heard
through the grape vine that SCAD has been released (finally) I
cannot confirm this as no one has officially told me. It's very
difficult being a news chap when no one writes or phones with
any news most of it I read elsewhere or I just make it up, it's
BLOODY DIFFICULT so please tell me what's going on !.

Another rumour going around is that Bob Brenchley has acquired
the rights to the Revelation label and its software which
includes the Secretary word processor .
Now some facts :
Parralax, a shoot em up, and Spell master, a complete W.P and
spellchecker as reported last month, are now available from FRED
Publishing, as is a Hilarious disc novel called Rachel. Prices
are:
Parralax £11.99 Spell master £14.99 Rachel £3.00

Available soon from FRED are: Boing, SCAD, E-Tracker, Waterworks
and Dyzonium, which is Plasmoids with a new name.

Boing has now been released, I believe it's from the SAM
Technology stable, so contact Bruce Gordon or Fred Publishing.
On the subject of SAM Technology you can purchase most SAM items
of hardware from them still, or of course through our very own
Jeanie Tonks (the editor's wife, actually I thought she was his
kid sister)(CREEP - ed). (She's his daughter really ...Les)

O.K. I am going to stick my neck out now, I am sure someone is
going to phone me up and give me a right earfull of abuse after
this, if you do you will confirm my beliefs. I am confident that
LEMMINGS will be on SAM for Christmas, now don't blame me if
it's not, but I have heard from many sources that it's almost
completed, and I am sure they are not all wrong !. Mind you its
a bit late now, but I suppose its better late than never.

SAM & SINCLAIR COMPUTING has been bought out by Format
publications and outstanding subs should be converted to Format
magazine I will look forward to that, I have heard that Bob
Brenchley of Format publications is also the man behind WEST
COAST COMPUTERS who, I have been informed are after the rights
to SAM. I can't confirm any of this but no doubt if I'm wrong I
will get told. I just hope someone gets the rights and DOES
SOMETHING AND VERY QUICKLY.

See you next time - Angry of Ashford.

                     -----------------------

.
